THE BIG CUBE
Break the Pattern
A world is made of cubes. The creatures there always follow instructions, pushing cubes numbly and endlessly. Yet when one of them discovers another path and chooses not to obey, something unexpected happens.
The Big Cube is an artistic VR experience that explores reality through minimal forms and immersive space. By reducing the complexity of the world into fundamental shapes and movements, the project creates a simple yet powerful sensory language. It invites viewers into a contemplative journey where they can feel, interpret, and construct their own understanding of the world.
PANEL WITH THE CREATOR AT THE RAINDANCE IMMERSIVE SUMMIT ON 19 JUNE | Transformative Narratives: Courage and Personal Growth
In an increasingly divisive and polarised world, the power of storytelling has never been more crucial. Three VR narratives—Menghui Huang’s The Big Cube, Owen Hindley’s Fallax and Tomis Fras’s Sonderambla—remind us that courage and personal growth remain possible even in the most challenging times. Join us for the panel with the creators at the Raindance Immersive Summit on Zoom.
In The Big Cube, a creature living in a world of cubes breaks free from fixed patterns and begins a new journey. In Fallax, an escaped prisoner is drawn into a mysterious glowing hot spring, and journeys through a magical natural world. In Sonderambla, an elderly widower finds the courage to step back into the world and go on a date.
Each creator will introduce their work before joining a panel discussion moderated by Raindance Immersive Curator, Jo Leigh. Together, they will explore themes of courage, personal growth, and the inspiration behind their work.
