Basis VR: A practical foundation for Open-Source VR

What if realising your vision in VR didn't have to be blocked by years of engineering?

Basis was created for you. VR is notoriously difficult to develop for, and it can be hard to keep the creative spark by the time your software is ready to deliver on your vision.

In this talk, join two industry veterans, Luke Dooly and Yewnyx, as they demo their batteries-included framework called Basis, a robust set of tools ready for you to build immersive and networked apps, games, or experiences.

Luke Dooly is the creator of the Basis Framework and a VR industry professional with past experience building Last Epoch, Labrythine, Blacktop Hoops, and multiple other unreleased projects. His mission is to put VR into every creator's toolset, helping people of all levels of engagement - artists, developers, and designers - build their vision.

Yewnyx has a long history of foundational work in applications and VR. He built core pieces of the Crunchyroll, Reddit, and Facebook mobile apps, worked on the Quest OS at Oculus, and implemented several core game systems in the hit VR title BONELAB from Stress Level Zero.
