THE ELEPHANT I FOUND UNDER MY SKIN
When Gali goes for her first breast ultrasound, the discomfort is overwhelming. In an attempt to escape the exam, she detaches from her body—only to be swallowed, along with her breasts, into a surreal fantasy world. There, she discovers that her only way out is to stop running and become whole again.
Hand-painted in VR with Quill, the project grew from a personal journey to navigate the complex relationship between the self and the body, touching on themes of pregnancy, change, and agency. The work visually confronts these shifts, inviting viewers to reflect on their own physical connections. It serves as an advocate for regular health screenings, emphasizing that prioritizing self-care is vital—even when the process involves discomfort.
