Prepare to be transported to a reimaging of the 80's classic NYC club, The Saint, dubbed the Vatican of Disco and one of the most beloved sanctuaries of queer nightlife, where generations of LGBTQ+ dancers, dreamers, and misfits found freedom under the pulse of the beat. In the virtual revival called ICON, the velvet ropes dissolve and the club’s legacy lives on, inviting you into a space where community, expression, and liberation have always thrived.
This digital reconstruction features a fully integrated DMX lighting system, delivering high‑energy, music‑responsive light shows that electrify the room. Colours chase the rhythm, beams cut through the haze, and every transition amplifies the emotional arc of the performance.
VR Dance Academy, together with Magic Land Entertainment, are one of five teams bringing the "Ecstatic Raindance" theme to life, offering a creative interpretation of the global Ecstatic Dance movement, adapted for the limitless creative spaces of VRChat. From the moment you step inside, you are invited to shed judgement and surrender to the flow. Connect with your emotions, sensations, body, and spirit. Step into the studio with DustBunny, founder of VR Dance Academy, who is at the forefront of the virtual dance movement with her trailblazing collective. This session explores her unique creative process—from the technical nuances of full-body tracking to the artistic challenges of teaching choreography in VRChat to students around the world.
Join Raindance Immersive Curator, Fangs, in conversation with DustBunny to unpack the evolution of dance within social VR. Together, they will dive into the challenges of synchronising performances across varying latencies, leveraging custom avatars to amplify expression, and producing high-caliber live shows.
