Join Ingrid Kopp, co-founder of Electric South, Aurelio Mofuga, creator of The Daladala Verse, selected for 2026 Raindance Immersive, and Vanessa Lawand Pfeiffer, Community Strategy & Engagement Manager at Agog: The Immersive Media Institute, for a series of talks exploring XR as a catalyst for social change, immersive storytelling, and creative empowerment.

This session brings together three unique perspectives on how immersive technology transcends entertainment to become a vital tool for advocacy, awareness, community building and action. From fostering a new generation of African creators to building sustainable XR ecosystems, these speakers demonstrate how immersive storytelling can reshape and scale social impact to build empathy and drive real-world policy shifts.

Ingrid Kopp has worked in documentaries and interactive media since 2000. In addition to her work with Electric South, Ingrid co-founded Immerse, a publication on nonfiction emerging storytelling. Before moving back to South Africa, she was the Director of Interactive at the Tribeca Film Institute in NYC, where she worked at the intersection of storytelling, technology, design, and social change. She also programmed immersive work for the Tribeca Film Festival. Ingrid served on the World Economic Forum's Global Future Councils on AR, VR and the Metaverse.

Aurelio Mofuga is a Tanzanian technologist, immersive storyteller, and digital artist exploring the intersection of art, culture, and Afro-futurism. His work blends VR, AR, projection mapping, documentary filmmaking, and interactive media to preserve and reimagine African stories for contemporary audiences. He is the creator of The Daladala Verse, an immersive storytelling project examining Tanzanian identity and public transport culture through VR, AR, and film. The project has received international recognition, including winning the XR Competition Storytelling Award at the NewImages Festival.

Vanessa Lawand Pfeiffer has dedicated her career to fostering community and driving social impact through media and entertainment. She brings over 15 years of experience in film, TV, music, gaming, and digital content to her role as Agog’s Community Strategy & Engagement Manager. Previously, Vanessa served as Director of Equity & Inclusion at Warner Bros. Discovery, leading talent pipeline programs in animation, games, VFX, and creative tech.
